Discussing his evening out dancing, Effie seems a little jealous as she gives Sam the cold shoulder. Still, she dutifully takes pen in hand to take dictation on his latest case. Flashback to the courtroom scene, where John Lawless is on trial. Sam is on hand as a witness against the man. It’s now 3 years later, and gang rivalries run deep. Did an innocent man do time? Sam is hired for protection when murder enters the scene for the petty crook.
After some head thumping action, Sam comes up short on clues, suspects, and even the corpse has vanished. Hitting the streets, an informant sets Sam into the direction of the night club scene. What will he learn from John’s old lawyer, and Sally? The pressure is on, the cops are called, and danger is in the air when the guns come out.
There’s plenty of loose threads for Sam to explain as he sets the innocent free, and the real criminals get their just deserts. Back in his office, he wraps up his report with Effie.
