Morning in the Cooper home finds George perky and optimistic, while Liz is far from it. Once folks are up and about, the topic turns to new years resolutions, and starting off the year by sticking to a budget. Too bad Liz is already over budget in this first week of the new year.
To prove a point, and teach Liz a lesson, George makes Liz make do with what ever food she has already bought to last the month. Good thing she just picked up a bargain on a big case of beans. Too bad George hates beans.
Liz gets creative with her meal preparations, but how long can it last? They soon are able to take their minds off the surplus of beans when a new distraction finds them in the dark, due to Liz not paying the electric bill.
Now only in the second week of the month, and tired of the unending diet of beans, George calls a truce and pays up the bills. He needs to wine and dine a client from the bank, but the frustrated Liz doesn’t want to play along. She plans a meal of beans to prove her own point back to George.
Frank Nelson is the client who is looking forward to a home cooked meal, but will he fall prey to overacting by Liz and Katie. Will George get his business when the evening is done? You know it will all work out. Somehow.
