With all the excitement in Hollywood over the opening of the latest hit film, we find Jack Benny getting ready for bed. Though he puts up a good front to Rochester, Jack wonders why he didn’t get an invitation. Mary Livingston pops in with tickets, and Jack gets his chance to go to the opening, as soon as Jack can conquer an unruly collar button. Bob Crosby enters with a joke, then sings, Remember Heart of My Heart.
Mary arrives, and its off to the show. Making their way inside with all the A-listers in Hollywood, Jack and Mary find their seats. Pardon me.. pardon me…
Fast forward, and Sam Goldwin bumps into Jack and Mary. Will Jack have any advice to offer the movie mogul? Will Jack ever control that crazy collar button? The three head to the restaurant as guests of Bob Crosby. Frank Nelson waits on them, and dish out a hard time for Jack. Will Jack get the complimentary dinner he was promised?
PS: For not being funny, or delivering a line very well, Sam Goldwin gets the biggest laughs of the night. Maybe its because of his non-comedic delivery that the jokes work as well as they do.
