In our last episode, which we don’t seem to have, Perry White had called Clark into his office, where we’re briefly told how the previous adventure ended. Today we learn about a new expedition, it has to do with an undersea trip to the lost city of Atlantis. Is this going to be some kind of joke?
Jimmy may get his first shot at being a star reporter… to the local grade school class. Will it keep him busy, and not available for this latest expedition?
The wacky professor is an old coot who is prepared for anything. Can he make Jimmy an ice cream soda with the stuff in his gear? How sure is he that Atlantis actually exists? What plan does he have if he can find it?
Clark tries to talk sense to the old gent. Is such an expedition going to work, with the world at war, and the Atlantic a virtual no mans land? As crazy as it sounds, everybody is thrilled at the prospect.
Note: The ending to the previous story ark is hinted at, but all we know for sure is that despite the apparently successful ambush, Superman had clearly saved the day.
