Sharing a ride to work with the judge doesn’t take away any of Gildy’s fears. In the barber shop, the war stories of treatments for bad teeth only serve to set Gildy’s more on edge. What’s the latest news on gas rationing? Its not due to a shortage of gas, but of rubber. A point we hear repeatedly from shows from this era in the early war years.
In the office, Miss Fitch has everything under control. The efficient secretary has already made a dentist appointment for her boss. At home Leila and Marjorie are cooking up their own surprises. Will the pampering from the women folk help the big man?
Fearing his impending dental appointment, Gildy checks in with Peavey. Does the druggist have a cure for him? Doing their part to boost his courage, Leroy and Marjorie accompany Gildy to his dentist. Will the visit go as badly as he feared?
