When Judith, a vivacious, young debutante is injured in an accident while riding horseback, her life is threatened by a brain injury. Her life as a member of the idle rich may come to a crashing end if the brain surgeon can’t remove the foreign matter that became lodged in her head when she cracked it open.
The surgery is intense, and Judith is lucky to have this skilled surgeon available, since he is leaving the profession to seek other occupations. Will she fully recover? The fiery young lady can spot a lie when she hears it. Should she cling to her surgeon, or put distance between herself and him. He’s not going to remain a doctor for long anyway.
Emotions rise and fall. Is there a love growing between the two? The unlikely pair, from two different layers of the social classes have no reason to be together. There’s no guarantee of a happily after marriage for them… is there? Who will take care of her, and comfort her if the complications of the injury should flare up again?
