Though Leroy comes home with bad grades on his report card, Marjorie manages to calm her uncle. Realizing that his own boyhood grades weren’t always as good as they could be, Bildersleeves decides to take another tack, and spend some quality time, bonding with Leroy. They go duck hunting.
After 5 hours spent in the cold duck blind, Leroy expects a full day of playing football, going to the carnival, and a host of other fun kid adventures. Playing sit, Gildy is pampered by Marjorie and Birdie, but will he have a miraculous recovery? Just in time to go to Mrs Ransom’s house?
Will Gildy be able to sneak off to be with Leila? Leroy is dedicated to stick by his side, since Gildersleeve had to miss out on his day out with him today. Or is it that Leroy is prepared to blackmail his uncle, and get him in trouble over faking his sickness today? The kid’s smarter than his uncle gives him credit for being.
