After weird sightings of dead men walking, and snatching a woman, Some bodies remain in the morgue, another is amazing, and one shows signs that it had been the one who did the body snatching. Back at his cottage, Friday freshens up, and tells what he knows. How much should he share about the queer happenings with the corpses? Has Doc ever heard any medical reports of dead men walking? Amazingly, Doc says he has. He shares a few rare cases of medical conditions, or people in hypnotic states. Friday and Doc review the facts and clues of the case. How do they relate? What does the appearance of the Stanley’s and the Luis cousins fit into it?
At breakfast, Doc tries to learn more about possible motives to kill the two prominent men in town. Meanwhile Captain Friday has been out to learn what he can in town. The people are bursting with gossip, and a town meeting has been called. Will there be any danger in the light of day? Should someone stay here to guard the girls? Doc goes to examine the bodies at the morgue,
will Martin and Friday go to the town meeting. First an exploration of Doc Simms house to look for any valuables that might be a motive for doing him in. Did he leave a will? What suddenly terrified Stanley, and who turned out the lights? Doc rushes in to tell that Doc Simms body is gone, and he finds Friday knocked out on the floor. Is that a woman’s handkerchief on the floor?
