Being spectators at a prize fight isn’t uncommon for Bulldog Drummond and Denny, but they find their quiet evening at home dragging them into a developing ringside drama. A boxing manager is worried the mob might be trying to ruin his star athlete’s career. Will the boxer fight fair, or take a dive? One way or the other he stands to be killed. Denny and Drummond give the play by play of the fight.
Not only did the favored boxer land on the mat, but he’s dead. Drummond investigates the motive of who stood to gain the most from the outcome of the fight. Follow the money through the trail of gangsters and bookies. Bodies pile up, but is anybody really believing suicide is involved?
Danger and mystery still looms as there appears to be no progress in solving the mystery. Drummond reviews the clues with a fine tooth comb, even so there are a few twists to the story that need closer attention. A good fist fight wouldn’t hurt the matter either.
