Though Don laughs at his joke in the introduction, Jack isn’t thrilled at all. Dennis Day takes us down a different track when he tells about his recent dental work. The phone operators try to put a call through to Rochester, but gossip about Jack’s dates A telegram arrives from Fred Allen, but without much of a tip for the delivery boy. Dennis sings, Pretend.
Everyone seems to have missed the rehearsal, and Jack gets onto Bob Crosby for missing it as well. Jack introduces the play, a spoof of a movie featuring Tyrone Powers. Rochester phpones in to tell about his shopping trip, and be an alibi for Dennis. What otyher messages will he have for Jack?
The play begins. Tyrone Benny provides voiceover to tell of his past, and how he became a gambler. Bob gets pointers on gambling, and the two take to the tables. Howe will the card playuing go? Cheaters will be shot. The Sportsmen sing a sponsor message to the tune of, Down the Lazy River.
The gambling continues until Jack meets a dame. The sultry voiced French woman uses her charms on the gamblers. Running gags pepper the scene including Simeron rolls, and others from the first part of the show. Will the riverboat gambler meet his match when he has to fight a duel?
