Rolling back the clock a little, Don takes us back a few days to witness Jacks travel, and first couple days in the resort town of Palm Springs. Rochester drives the Maxwell past some drunken cows, and has a problem at the gas pumps that only Jack can solve. Mary and Jack have some pool side fun. Who knew that Jack could dive so well… or hold his breath for that long? Bob Crosby and Jack enjoy a few holes of golf before Bob sings, Pretend.
After a few more moments on the golf course, Don introduces the play. Jack and Bob are travellers across the desert, braving the affects of the blazing sun, when they meet a Mexican guide. Mel Blanc isn’t Sy, but he tells about his sister… you couldn’t resister… mister. The Guadalahara Trio sing a Mexican love ballad where the Sportsmen might do their song, and of course a sponsor message manages to slip in before it’s done.
As our travellers survive the affects of a mirage, they have finally reached Palm Springs. Jack still has to beat the casino, and a crooked roulette wheel.
