After days of dreary weather, Matt and Chester decide to make the rounds, and pay a call to a near by rancher. On the way they find a nearly dead indian girl. Back in Dodge, doc does all he can, but the affects of exposure to the elements have done their job. The girl is identified as the squaw of a white man, but to identify her, Matt has to ride to the Arapaho tribe camped outside of Dodge
There has been unrest between the indians and the whites lately, and trouble of this sort could blow the lid off keeping any peace. Great Eagle knows exactly who the girl is, and is insistent that he, and a band of braves, will be in Dodge by sundown to gather the body of his own daughter.
Tension runs high as worries of a battle will explode. Can Matt contain the trouble? Can Great Eagle be convinced to enter town with only 2 braves? As Great Eagle gets his daughter, he shares the sad story of how pride of both the white man, and pride of the indians is to blame for his loss.
