A surgeon has a chance enccounter with a gypsy palm reader. She reads his palm, but is suddenly horrified that he has death in his hands. What does that mean? Will he have a murder in his future? As he frets over it, he accidentally, nearly pushes his beloved wife off a pier. Later, he accidentally gives her poison, instead of an aspirin for her headache. His fear at his hidden murderous side terrifies him.
At a party, yet another palm reader tells him death is in his hands. Even more, his wife is told that her husbands name is written at the end of her life line. The doctor begins to have thoughts of killing someone else, so his prophecy will come ture, and spare his wife.
The pressure is kicked up, when his wife has been in an accident, and needs the emergency surgical care that he alone is qualified to give. To avoid it is as good as letting her die. Will he make a mistake that will cost her life? A second fatally injured patient is the palm reader from the party, and he has a death bed confession that reveals a secret.
