Dean and Jerry open in their usual musical style. Dean then sings, I Can’t Give You Anything but Love Baby. Dean and Jerry get ready to see the big Broadway play, Mr Roberts, starring henry Fonda. The guys are all spiffy, and looking good as they head out. In the theater, a few lines from the play are presented. Henry Fonda’s performance has Jerry inspired to become a dramatic actor.
Later at a drugstore counter, Jerry continues to rave over his desire to be a serious actor when Florence, their secretary enters. Jerry gives her some advice on makeup and perfume to help her get a man. Jerry and Dean goes to henry Fonda’s dressing room to corner him for help with breaking into the acting business. Henry does have a part for Jerry to play, the part of the goat mascot on Mr Robert’s ship.
Dean is back to sing, You’re Adorable.
After second thoughts, Jerry insists on the romantic lead. He and henry discuss being bashful around girls. It fades into a flashback drama of Henry’s first love interest. Jerry and Hank compete for the hand of Daisy Belle. At the big barn dance, Zeke Martin handles the music while the competition over Daisy Belle continues. On stage, Dean sings a spoof song with the help of Jerry and Henry, Drop Dead Little Darlin’.
Is Henry really that bashful? has Jerry changed his mind about acting? They claim so.
