John Asper comes to Dodge City with his son. He has a problem with the deed to his ranch, and the lawyer who filed the papers. Rab, the slick lawyer, has made himself the new owner of the ranch, instead of John’s sons. Will the illiterate rancher get satisfaction?
Elsewhere in town, Kitty shares some of her jaded attitude about men, and a need for a change of pace. Matt has to leave, when Chester reports a gunshot victim at Doc’s. Has Rab seen his shooter? He suspects it was John Asper, but was it him? Matt isn’t so sure, since the details of the story don’t make sense.
Matt thinks John is trustworthy enough, but at the ranch it soon appears that one of the boys may be the shooter. John is in denial at first, but comes to realize his son, Prince, could be guilty. Will he turn his son over to the law? The posse hits the trail, but it won’t be easy riding. Tough decisions will need to be made.
