On the Melody Ranch, Gene talks to Sanchez, a fellow rancher, over a game of checkers. Rustlers have been swiping cattle from all the herds, and Gene sets out the next morning to investigate. Champion helps Gene locate a poisoned water hole. Later, news of an Eastern syndicate that wants to buy up the land from the ranchers is discovered. Only Sanchez is brave enough to stand up to the Eastern businessman. Elsewhere, chemicals are found, and it appears that Sanchez is being framed. Can Gene blow the lid off the mystery, and reveal the real crook?
