Nick joins Paul as the rest depart. Then heads in the house to find Margret down in the dumps. She claims to have lost her best friend. She’s not his favorite grand daughter any more. Now she’s jealous of Elizabeth Sharon Ann. The new favorite has a stomach ache from all the candy and treats that grandpa plied onto her.
Claudia tells Nick about how Pa Barber eavesdropped on the girl talk in the pool, and found out all kinds of family secrets. Has the embarrassing gossip made Henry mad? Hazel knows just the favorite treat, with trimmings to butter Henry up. Will the peace offering lift Pa Barbers spirits?
