A package arrives for Leroy that has the family guessing what it could be. He is trying to sell flower seeds to raise money. Putting his salesmanship skills to work is proving to be more tough than expected. Can he learn a thing or two from the marketing skills that his uncle applied in his girdle factory? Gildy goes along to show Leroy how its done. Dottie, their talkative neighbor won’t let him get in a word in edgewise. Other neighbors are visited, with mixed results.
Rising to meet a challenge from Judge Hooker, Leroy and Gildersleeve try to locate a property to plant a victory garden. Out on a farm Leroy gets busy in laying out his garden. Fun with farm animals, and working with a lack of tools ensues.
Working the garden reminds Gildy of his boyhood on the farm. A little team work manages to get the garden planted, but new p0roblems arise. How’s the garden growing? Time goes by, and the signs of a green thumb abound. Is there a secret about the land they’ve oplanted their gardens on?
