In flashback, we join Rochester and Jack telling how the Beavers will do their version of the show. First, Mary pops in to tcomment on the old tuxedo that Jack wants to wear. Bob Crosby enters to tell about being out on jury duty. Bob is backed up by the Sportsmen to sing, Oh Happy Day
Mary drives Jack to the school auditorium, where the Beavers are to perform. First, Dennis shows off his new bike.
The all kid cast plays all the parts. The jokes are all the kind that you’d expect on the show, but the kids make it all too cute. Fat jokes, a letter from Mary’s mom, telegrams, and even a young Frank Nelson impersonator. Dennis pops in with his inherited pair of glasses. The young Dennis even sings, Clancey Lowers the Boom.
In a candy store, Jack gets advice from a tout. A phone call to Rochester ends up with a scene with Gertrude and Mabel, the phone operators. Rochester has news about trying to sell Jack’s car.
