In the get away place of Palm Springs, Don announces the man that everybody thought they were getting away from. Jack jokes with Don Wilson about the bathing suits on the beach. Bob Crosby joins the fun, and the attention shifts to the places the cast is staying, and Bob’s kids. Mary tells about where’s staying, and a brush with the May Company. Dennis tells abbout his date, and why he was late to the show. Dennis sings, Even Now.
Phoning home, Jack talks to Rochester. He has to take care of Polly the parrot, who isn’t feeling well. Will anybody volunteer to play golf with Jack? After the stake ride last night, nobody wants any of Jack’s style of fun.
In flashback, we find Jack trying to arrange the stake ride with Frank Nelson. Horses are arranged, along with guides, and a cookout around a campfire. The horses include an English horse for Jack… and what about that long mane? A Mexican group, The Guadalahara trio, manages a nice sponsor message. Arriving at the campfire site, the fixings for cooking the stakes are all ready… sort of.
