Another dip into the Retro Vault, with a show from the first season. The old fashioned Retrobots don’t have much to say, but Keith reminds people in the new intro that this is the second installment in the first request a listener asked to hear.
Lars Morton is a man who has been blinded is repentant to his wife, who he has mistreated, and wants her to get in touch with his old partner, Rudy Bowie. The men are literally partners in crime, namely safe cracking. Elsewhere, Mr District Attorney investigates the scene of the botched crime that caused the wife abusing safe cracker to loose his eyeasight.
All Lars needs is for Rudy to lead him to the next job. He’s confident that he can still do the delicate job of feeling the tumblers fall under his fingers. Does his wife Agnes, and Rudy have the same confidence? Developing a profile, based on the latest safe cracking jobs, the cops begin to track down Lars. At the same time Lars finds himself treading through the dog eat dog world of the underworld. Will it really be so easy to have Agnes and Rudy lead him around on the job? When things go wrong, Lars is left high and dry at the scene of a murder.
When the cops find only a blind mabn on the crime scene, it’s clear to them that he couldn’t have been solely responsible for the murder. Elsewhere, Agnes and Rudy make their get away, sure that Lars may not want to take the fall, but he won’t talk and rat them out… will he? The interrogation gets heated, but will Lars hold his ground? Rudy begins to have his doubts, which seem to be proved out whebn police close in obn he and Agbnes. How did the cops close in so fast? Stay tuned to the epilog, and Mr District Attorney will explain the key points that tipped him off.
