Now on location in the unoccupied penthouse apartment, Clark Kent and Major Campbell investigate the high tech control panel. With the press of a button, chairs and other furnishings fill the rooms. The hideout has been found out, but it still doesn’t answer the mystery of the disappearing Lois Lane.
The large apartment terrace is examined next. Is it large enough to land an airplane, or an autogyro? Clark finds a mechanism that uses compressed air. How might it have been used to launch an aircraft? Is that just crazy talk?
Will Heller do any harm to Lois? For now, Clark figures to let the crooks think they’ve fooled them, and hope they’ll show their hand sooner than later. Unless Clark gets himself trapped first
