On the train back to California, we find Jack playing gin rummy with Mary. Phil keeps popping in to ask about borrowing items needed for his drinking habit. Taking a break from losing to Mary, Jack takes a walk to the dining car, and spies on Rochester. What secrets will he share with his pal, Ernie Bubbles Whitman? Back in Mary’s compartment, they tune in the radio to hear Dennis Day sing, A Few More Sweet Words.
Phil is back with more running gags on drinking. Jack is back to roaming the hall of the train, and plays with a cute, blue-eyed baby. Joe Besser asks about tickets to Jack’s show, if that won’t be too difficult. The Sportsmen sing a sponsor flavored version of, Civilization.
Arriving in California, Joe Besser holds up the line, as Jack looks for a cab, and the train announcer reports on the status of the line going to Anaheim, Azuza, and Cucamonga. Dennis is on hand to greet Jack back home. What other craziness awaits?
