On his long ride back to Dodge City, Kitty finds Matt bone tired, and falling asleep in the saddle. Just then, Kitty’s horse throws her, and she finds she can’t get up. Is anything broken? Why is she having trouble in seeing Matt?
Finding a homestead family to take care of her, Matt sends for medical help. Matt woiuld have gone himself, but Kitty doesn’t want him to leave her side. The grumbling farmer reluctantly sets out, while his wife does what she can for the feverish Kitty.
Complications set in when the homesteaders disreputable son, Lutey takes advantage to cause Matt grief. Gunplay seems the only way to end the trouble.Doc finally arrives, and Kitty’s outlook shows good signs of improvement.
