Banker, Abner Chaney, has organized an oil association, and built a pipeline to make it easier for ranchers to get their oil to market. An Old pal of Clark Kent, Tumbleweed Jones thinks the association is trying to cheat the ranchers and bought his own trucks to transprt his oil. As Clark and Jimmy arrive at the ranch, they witness an ambush of Tumbleweeds trucks. Who could have known about Tumbleweed’s operation?
Pressure is on for Tumbleweed when he reveals how he took out a loan with Chaney. He stands to lose not only the oil, but his whole ranch if he can’t repay the loan. Should he give in and join the oil association, or will he be better off to repair his trucking operation, and make a go of it on his own?
The trucks head out into the night, but it’s the close of the day for Jimmy as bed time approaches. Clark answers some `questions about the rock formations in the area, giving a nugget of knowledge for the kiddies. As Clark hunts down a bed time snack to satisfy Jimmy’s voracious apetite, ranch forman Buck Conners makes a mysterious phone call. Where will it take our heros next along their adventure?
