The show gets a rough start when it’s delayed by technical difficulties. A brief musical presentation is presented as listeners wait for the program to start. Once the technical troubles have been fixed, the show begins.
Connie is in a hurry and leaves some mail out. Mrs Davis is curious, and reads a particualr one from the Sunnyvale Finishing School. It’s a letter that seems to be offering Connie Brooks a job. If she should take it, Miss Brooks will have to leave. Mrs Davis gets on the phone to share the secret with Martha Conklin. Good thing it’s a secret. Before you know it, Harriot knows, and the rumor mill begins.
Meanwhile, Connie and Mr Boynton have a chat about birds. He invites her to go with him to his uncles farm for some bird watching. Back in the Conklin home, Osgood is trying to deal with a case of indigestion after a Thanksgiving feast. Walter stops in and the rumor spreads. They want to make a plan to make Miss Brooks stay.
Of course, the birdwatching trip is mistaken for Connie taking that new job. Imagine connie’s confusion over the wierd behavior of Walter, and others. The secret is bound to come out, and the explanation of the Sunnyvale letter, but only after some cute mix ups.
