Judge Hooker enters the Gildersleeve home with Mr Wilson, and want Gildy to join the CGA, the Clean Government Association. They want Gildy to help with a clean up plan at the city jail. The plan is to have a member arrested on a simple charge, and report on the happenings at the jail from the inside. After a heated discussion, Gildy agrees, and plans to get arrested by arguing with a cop.
First, Gildersleeve dresses as the part of a low life riffraff. The family, especially Leroy and Marjorie get in on the fun. They may be even more enthusiastic than Gildy is at the role playing. Who knew it could be so hard to get arrested? Instead of being bad, just try being good.
Now that Gildersleeve is on the inside, how easy will it be for him to break out? Will Judge Hooker and Wilson keep their word and get him out? Maybe Birdie can bring him a little something to lend him a hand?
Deliverance comes, and its just as well since he doesn’t want to get onboard with the social life behind bars. In a final moment Gildy learns about a slight mix up, and the end of the corruption at the city jail.
