As Matt and Chester try to figure out what time it is, trouble interupts. A boy is being chased away by an angry store owner. He’s a boy who was rescued from indians after being raised by them for 8 years, and he’s still getting used to living among the white men. Not quite an indian, and not quite white, nobody understands him.
Matt is on the boy’s side, and goes to the widow woman who has taken him in. She tries her best to love him since her own boy was captured so many years ago. Trouble just won’t leave the boy alone, and when the army reports indians escaping from reservations they ask his help to find their rallying point. Will the boy help? Should he?
When he runs away to rejoin his indian family, Matt tracks him down to learn a few secrets.
