Ignoring a telegram from Perry White to turn back, and steer clear of the logging camp, Clark and Jimmy find their dog sled being attacked by wolves. Distracting Jimmy and their guide, Clark takes on the whole wolf pack as Superman.
Jimmy makes it to the camp, where Nancy Harmon greets the travellers warmly, and Clark evades Jimmy’s questions about fending off the wolves and getting to camp so quickly. Nancy also gives details of the mysterious way loggers have disappeared. The vanishings and story of the white plague certainly seem to be a supernatural thing.
A thumping is heard at the door, and a logger is found, just as he takes his dieing breath. Will the government get the lumber needed? Will the white plague continue to claim lives?
