After the movie is over, young lovers talk about the romantic film they just saw. How will Mel behave with Betty? They talk about marriage plans, and trying to win over Mr Colby into letting Mel marry his dauughter. Down at the supermarket, Mel makes his case for asking for Betty’s hand, but Colby has more pressing matters with his competitors. Buttering up Colby, Mel agrees to paint the store for free. Will Zookie hold to the high standards that Colby expects? Hartly Benson arrives to taunt Mel, and brag about his skills with the ladies.
Victor Miller and his Orchestra play, Cecilia. Mr Cushing enters to hear about Zookies paint job at the supermarket. He gives Mel a word of advice, but only after another round of complaining about his unhappy marriage. It’s going to be tough to talk sense to the irate Colby. I feel a disguise coming on.
The potential buyer of the supermarket has entered, and though the paint job is exotic, he kinda likes it. Still, Mel does his act imitating a French artistic type. Will the moron behind the paint job be revealed? Will Mel’s relationship with Mr Colby be repaired?
