As Betty hints at their future life together once they get married, Mel is a little clueless towards her suggestions. Young love, and marriage continue as topics of the jokes. Determined to ask for her hand in mariage,Mel goes to talk to Mr Colby. Colby is in high spirits, and imperfvious to Mel’s friendly insults. He is to be featured in a trade magazine for supermarket businesses. Can Zookie help Betty and Mel get together? He checks out some books from the library on psychology.
The Victor Miller Orchestra plays, April Showers. Colby has consented to let Mel marry his dughter, as long as he helps write an intellectual speech for the magazine. Hartley Benson pops in to brag on his exploits with the ladies, and in sports. The Mighty Potentate of the Zebra lodge enters to complain about his wife. He remembers a moment when they first met, and her decline in her figure. Gad! What’s this week’s temptation to bump of his wife?
Having second thoughts, Colby has given the intellectual job to Hartly. Mel does his own thing by trying to impersonate influential people in Colby’s life. Will he enhance, or sabotage Colby’s reputation with the editor? Will Colby finally let Mel Propose to Betty?
