Colby enters the fix it shop for a little matching of wits with mel. He’s not nearly impressed with Mel as the society ladies are. Instead of impersonations, Mrs Grimes wants Mel to be part of their literary meeting. Will he be in over his head?

Can Mel hold up his end of a literary conversation? Before he has much time to worry over it, Hartley Benson enters to tell how all the girls flock to him. The Mighty Potentate, Mr Cushing pops in to tell the latest about his disfunctional marriage. The lonely man just has no one to talk to. Cushing decides to help Mel out with his party, and make himself appear more inteligent than he is.
How will Mel fit in with the high class international collection of party goers? As he does his best, Cushing waits on the balcony to feed Mel lines to keep up with the literary questions. Somehow Mel gets through the night, and survives to see another typical day in the fix it shop.
