In Jack’s house, Rochester tells about his latest venture to the Coleman’s, and to tell Jack he can’t go to the show tonight. In the studio Jack greets the cast, and tries to educate Phil about musical groups. Dennis tells secrets about Jack, and dating his mom. Dennis sings, Madamozel.
The play is a spoof of the hit film with Fred MacMurray and Claudette Colbear, and Don is afraid that it’s going to be too much like the spoof that Fred Allen just did on his show, featuring the same play.
Frank Nelson shows Jack and Mary their new farm house on their new chicken farm. Everything will be in working order, right? How will Jack take to the early morning chores? Mary joins the fun with feeding time of the animals.
The Sportsmen sing a song, then we meet Ma and Pa Kettle. Denniis is Pa, the laziest man alive, and cracks jokes about the condition of his own farm.
Note: Through the first half of the episode, minor fluffs and bloopers are sprinkled in. Just after Dennis sings his song, the sound of something falling is heard, and Jack even adlibs about the dangers of the sound stage today.
