Mayor Latrivia enjoys a cup of tea with the McGee’s, but he has to rush away to tend to Wistful Vista’s new safe driving campaign. Lena the maid pops in to tell about her adventures in the kitchen. What culinary treats might she be cooking up for the Mayor and the McGee’s? Will Fibber heed the mayors warning to stay off the streets while the campain is going on? Billy Mills begins to play, but is preempted by news of late breaking election results.
On the streets, Fibber drives to dare the cops to ticket him. Spotting Wallace Wimple on the corner, the McGees give him a lift. The henpecked man tells how he was ticketed just for walking, and reading his bird book. As Fibber pulls over to give his smoking engine a break, his passenger changes to Harlowe Wilcox.
Doc Gamble walks by the parked car to swap jabs with Fibber about his driving skills. Molly reveals that Fibbers license is expired. The cops begin to close in on the car, parked in a 10 minute xzone. Whatcha gonna do about thsat Fibber? As he makes his slow speed get away, the Kingsmen sing, Slow Down.
Not only has Fibber’s license expired, he forgot it at home? Can he avoid police detection before he can make a safe run back to his house? Those flashing lights in hisrear view mirror promise a safe driving award. All Fibber needs to do is produce his license to get it. Uh-oh, can anything else go wrong?
