A miner is found wounded, and Sgt Preston takes him to medical attention. He had been looking for a better place to move his claim, and seems to have found it. Will his partner join him? In the meantime, Jim waits for his nephew Bob to come to his aid.
A couple of scheming swindlers believe they can fool the blinded Jim into thinking that one of them is his nephew Bob. Will they succeed, and horn in on his mine?
Preston stays by Jim’s side as much as he can, and when he’s not on patrol. When the fake Bob arrives, Jim’s new dog is skeptical, especially since the real Bob is said to have raised the critter from a pup. Preston smells a rat, and goes off to do some of his own investigating. How will he and King expose the imposters?
Note: Hmm… is this the same blinded miner, who was blinded in a blasting accident in a recent episode? Is this the same partner, who died in that same recent episode and left Jim with all the wealth of their work?? Also, Butch Kravens is mentioned here. as one of the swindlers. Is this the same cranky creditor from the recent Christmas episode? Part of me wants to think so, but one thing I’ve noticed about this series is the lack of imagination in picking character names.
