As Jack tries to compose a letter of apology to the Sportsmen , he uses Rochester for his spell checking. They joke about the quartet substitute from last week. Mary enters to be teased about her garden. Dennis Day arrives to join the gardening jokes and about having his own show. He then sings, I’ll Closer My Eyes.
Taking the Maxwell, Rochester drives Jack and Mary to talk to the sponsor about taking the Sportsmen back. Will Jack agree to the changes in the contract clauses?
Jack tells Mary about their trip to San Fransisco for next week. Mr Kitzel meets them on the street to tell about his house and furnishings. Don listens to Phil tell a corny joke as the cast want to be someone else. The Sportsmen make their comeback, and the whole cast join in for their sponsor message in song.
Afterward, Jack plugs the Refd Cross, and their work with hospitalized veterans.
PS: Elliot Lewis is back this time as the sponsor, Mr Stewart. Mary jokes around with Kitzel about not having a serious thing for Jack. Of course, they have been married for years.
