Doc talks with Chick and Pete in the drugstore about the big play rehearsals and upcoming production. Mrs O’Malley, the play producer enters in time to issue parts to all the gents. Will they all go along willingly? Doc finds himself eating a few of his words of advice he gave to Pete.
Other parts in the play are discussed, and Pete has some trouble understanding some facets of the romantic drama. As Mrs O’malley describes the glorious scenes, Pete wonders if it might be a little pretentious for their small town.
Will Pete have what it takes to meet Mrs O’Malley’s expectations? She has doubts as he tries to read a few lines. Fortunately, a replacement arrives to win Pete his freedom, but what about Doc?
