Under the night sky, lovers walk and boyfriends everywhere defend the honor of their girlfriends. How’s Mel Blanc handling it? What about when he and Betty are left all alone? All Mel can think of is the big convention and parade the Zebra lodge is putting on. Can Mel help Mr Colby take an important job in the entertainment? Professor Potchnik, the piano teacher pops in to complain about one of his music students, and tell about his past successes as an entertainer. Maybe Mel and Mr Colby can team up and be a comedy act that’ll impress the Zebra lodge.
Mel’s rival, Hartley, tells how he had been at the Colby’s to flirt with Betty. Mr Cushing, Mighty Potentate of the lodge, enters and seems a little depressed. He complains about his wife wearing the pants in the family. Mel is inspired to impersonate movie stars to win the approval of the Entertainment committee. Can Zookie help Mel ensure things go right?
As the VIP from the lodge is in town, the buttering up begins. As Colby does his thing, Mel pretends to be Charles Boier, and Peter Lorrie, but before more can be done Mel slips up. Is there any chance the VIP will still choose Colby or Mel? Get ready for some old time vaudevillian humor as the old jokes fly.
