On the wind swept prairie a couple of men talk about the one lynching the other in the calm tones of two friends meeting on the streets of Dodge City. Tillman is to hang as a horse thief, but the lynching party has their minds made up, and refuse to hear the excuses Tillman uses in his defense. A rider is seen, but how will he be able to affect the hanging? The deed is done, and the joke is on the lynchers. Wow, some joke. The lynching party’s excuse is lame, and doesn’t sit well with the Tillman family.
In town, Matt and Kitty talk about events in the few weeks since the hanging. Oddly, nobody is talking about the unfortunate incident. News comes in from Doc about news of a shooting, its similar to another earlier shooting, and both men were in the lynching party. Could it be one of the Tillman family? There seems to be an alibi in place though.
Jake is next on the list of likely victims. Will he be going after young Craig Tillman to try to preserve his life? Trying to intercept trouble, Matt goes to the Tillman ranch to learn what he can. What will it take for Matt to prevent another killing? When the events are right for an ambush, Matt reads the signs to intervene and catch a killer. Be sure to listen in to see who is behind the new rash of killing.
