Griff Miller is in town, and Doc Adams inquires about the load of nails the man is carrying. It’s to be delivered to Joe Stanely, who is building his house. Doc agrees to help Joe out with a secret surprise for his wife. She has her own request to make of doc, to examine an injury that Joe refuses to get treated.
In the drug store, Doc talks to Pete and Chick about the new guy in town, Joe Stanley. Will the new business in town be a threat to Pete’s drug store? Pete seems to think so, and gripes about the newcomer.
Later, in the rented home the Stanley’s are keeping, Doc sets about discretely tending to his secrets. It looks more serious than first expected, and medicine is sent for from Pete. Will the medical heroics pay off? Will Pete have regrets for harsh words that can’t be taken back?
