With some free time on his schedule, Doc visits the site of a bridge construction. Fortunately, doc is on hand when a worker falls from the bridge, and into the valley below. Springing into action, doc stabilizes the boy, and rushes him back to town.
Ben is recovering OK, but with his head bandaged, he’s concerned about if he’ll see again. The reform school graduate admits how he has tried to go straight, but lied on his job application to get his job. Being a good judge of character, doc thinks the boy is a fine enough lad, and thinks there could be more happening behind the accident than meets the eye.
Throwing his weight around, doc digs deeper into the matter, and protects young Ben. Playing a bluff, doc uncovers the real culprit, and convinces the police and Ben’s boss to get onto his side.
