An angry citezen confronts Matt about a lost cow. A matter that doesn’t concern him much, until foul play is hinted at. What’s the big deal about the scrawny little cow that’s missing? Though it isn’t much to look at, it is known to be an excellent swimmer, and has the knack to lead travelling herds across the river, and along their way to market.
Trying to pacify the battling trail bosses, Matt has to head out in search of the missing cow. Wanting to enjoy some leisure moments on a lazy Summer day, Doc tries to lure Matt away to accompany him on his medical rounds and the chance to do some hunting. At the homestead of the cow owner, fowl play seems to have become a factor.
At the Longbranch, tempers flare, and everybody is up in arms over the rival cattle herds, except for Matt. Then suddenly, the missing cow and it’s owner appear on the streets. Where hav they been? Will the hot headed factions still want to take the law into their own hands? All the mountains that have been made, all seem to be back down to their normal mole hill sizes.
