After an opening song, and message from the dsponsor, we join the McGee’s at home. Molly is tired of having Fibber around, since hiss recent sale of his business. Fibber takes his butler, Sillly Watson, to the employment ofice with him. The band plays a mellow dance number for some travelling music. Lady of the Evening.
Arriving at the employment agency, Fibber enters to catch an earful of the sponsor message. Will he find a job though? What is Fibber qualified to do? Pedigree McGGee brags about his special animal training abillity, and ends up going out on a job at the kennels. The band plays more mellow travelling music.
Arriving at the wrong address, McGee is expected to be a children’s tutor, rather than a dog trainer. Depending on the kid, the job skills could be remarkably interchangeable. Will the stodgy Mrs Pupenheim be impressed with Fibbers tutorial methods?
The crosss wired misunderstanding that ensues is helped along by Molly. Will the truth come out about the job, and expectations? This one really isn’t Fibbers fault, the agency got the addresses wrong, and sent him to the wrong place. There’s just enough time for one last commercial, and a closing number.
Note: Afterward, the Burlington Liars Club presents Fibber an award for Worlds Championn Liar. A real award.
PS: One age old question about the show involved exactly what occupation does Fibber have. He never seems to need to go to work, and has ample time to come up with crazy inventions, or be a busy body in other peoples affairs. In these early years we learn that he and Molly began as travelling vaudevillians, and as in today’s episode, Fibber did make a stab a various career paths.
