Ella Mary is back in the drugstore to flirt with the soda jerk, ordering . the kind of ice cream treat that might choke an elephant, but manage to sit quite well with the teenage metabolism. When doc enters he talks medicine with the pharmasist, and Mary’s disappointment that Johnny is out on deliveries is short lived when he returns with his friend.
Chick is his friend who came to town to be harrassed by Police Chief Benson last episode. He’s learning the ropes as Johnny plans to go back home and leave town. A matter that has Ella Mary and her friend quite upset, more so than that tasty treat of a few moments ago could ever do. Will Johnny get the clue that she’s more than a little sweet on him?
