Riding the range, Lone Ranger learns how a feud is brewing between ranchers over water rights. The Holsteads have dammed up the river, blocking Conway from getting any. Ignoring the road block, Lone Ranger rides to get the story straight from Holstead. Has someone else dammed the water to cause trouble between the ranchers, and make Holstead the fall guy?
Camps of ranchers are poised for a fight, but will Lone Ranger be able to mediate? Will peace be made? Things look bad when the men who he is trying to help have captured the Lone Ranger.
Slipping away, the masked man goes to see his old friend, Conway. Learn a little of how Lone Ranger had helped the rancher in the past. How can the range war be ended? Will either of the stubborn, strong willed, and proud cattlemen bend? It’s going to take some strategy to appease the egos of the players involved and save face before a needless war explodes.
For the solution to the problem, a little food poisoning is involved, and out riding the fence lines, the deputies finally get a chance to get things ironed out with Holstead.
