Muldoon is a peddler with enough merchandise, and hopes, to stock a store. Cazwell is the brick and mortar store owner who holds a monopoly on selling goods in town, and charges 3 times as much for his products. Though warned by the locals about others who dared to compete with Cazwell, and came up missing or bankrupt, Muldoon is carefree and hopeful.
Sgt Preston and King are in town, and the townsfolk think that Muldoon just might have the protection he needs to make a fair shake at his new business. Still, the accidents have already begun. Thanks to King an explosion on Muldoon’s boat is avoided, but Preston will need more evidence to stop the sabotage.
The bad guys are serious about keeping their monopoly, even to the point of gunning for Preston. Wouldn’t that be suicide to kill a mountie? They had better plan on taking down King as well. Things get tense when fire breaks out, but King is soon sniffing out the trail. Will anybody seriously believe the airs of innocense that Cazwwell puts on are genuine, even if he is offering a reward for the capture of the saboteurs? People may be fooled, but the keen senses of King, and Muoldoon’s dog Danny save the day.
