A half frozen tramp of a miner falls at the door of a cabin. Jake orders his men, Bill and Pete, to take the man back out to freeze to death, but the lady of the house, Rita, insists on taking the man in.
Rick Farley regains conciousness, and since Rita is now on the outs with the rest, the two make plans to flee to the near by town. Arriving safely in a boarding house Rita tells her hard luck story about her dad’s death, and how Bill and the gang had taken her in. Will she need protection now that she is gone and left them behind?
Sgt Preston rides in with King and his dog sled team. What might he be able to do for Rita?
Pete has recaptured Rita and taken her back to the cabin. Will they harm her to learn where Rick has hidden his stash of gold dust? When Preston comes to the rescue, a standoff in the woods goes down. Men on both sides are wounded, but has Preston been killed? Pete does good to doubt, and soon with Kings help, Preston is back on the trail to get his man. Tag along with the suspenseful moments as Preston wins another case closed.
