In the world of Casey, it’s the Christmas season, and we have a story about Christmas shopping. In a department store Casey and Ann spot a pickpocket lifting a wallet. Things get wierd fast, when the victim of the petty theft claims he still has his wallet, and gets rude with Casey at suggesting otherwise.
The confused Casey heads to the Blue Note tavern for a chat with his favorite bar tender, Ethylbert. Big news comes when the small time pickpocket has been arested for a kidnapping and murder. Casey races to let the cops know they have the wrong man. The question is how does Fingers Fogerty, the small fry pickpocket, fit into the murder charge? How does the fat guy who Casey saw get his wallet lifted figure into the mix?
After a good night’s rest, Casey has the answer. Some last minute investigating ties up some remaining loose ends. Before the trap can be sprung, Casey and Ann have a brush with danger. If something isn’t done quick, it could be the end of Casey as he and Ann take their last boat ride.
