Everybody thought he was crazy for leaving his law firm for handling the business of just one client, but old Peter Jackson is wealthy enough, and pleased enough with Eddie’s work. In fact after only 2 years of service, the old man considers Eddie a friend, and even changes his will to make him the new beneficiary. The latest news is that a marriage is in store for the 64 year old man. He’s to marry a 24 year old woman, Marsha.
How will Eddie Davis react when he meets the lovely Marsha for the first time?
Knowing a gold digger when he sees one, Eddie draws up a prenuptial contract to set up her claims to an allowance, and alimony, if she should ever divorce him. Will she go for the crazily low amounts? Are they both going for the same $5million inheritance once he dies? Will Marsha be willing to sign away her claim to the inheritance, will Eddie? Through their encounter together they begin to fall in love with each other. The only answer seems to be to rewrite the will so the original beneficiary gets the inheritance, proving to each other that neither cares about the money.
The inevitable day comes, and the old man dies. The Whistler holds a secret. Eddie has already turned the will over for the reading, and to go into probate. He can’t get it back, but will it do any good to admit his tampering with it? What happened to the lovely Marsha, who took off right after the funeral?
