In the darkened movie theater, we eavesdrop on the sweet nothings between the lovers as they get ready to leave. Mel is busy dreaming of the actors on the big screen, and living the life of drama and intrigue that has played forth in front of him. Does he have all the stuff the leading men of the movies have?
Later, in his fix it shop, Mel gets the chance to baby sit a 1 year old baby. How will he do in the parenting skills department? The mighty potentate of the lodge, Mr Cushing, stops in to complain about his wife, and marriage. It’s the night to initiate the latest member, Mr Colby. The trouble is that Mel has found himself obligated to baby sit, and can’t make it.
The Sportsmen sing, I Feel a Song Coming On. Can Tommy help Mel out of his jam? Zookie is left holding the baby, while Mel goes to the lodge. As is typical with Zookie, a misunderstanding ensues when Colby thinks the baby is Mel’s, and he wants to call off the engagement between Mel and his daughter, Betty.
At the lodge hall, we eavesdrop on the agenda of the meeting as it unfolds. Since Mel gave the deciding vote, he is given the position to initiate the new member, Mr Colby. What dirty tricks will Mel pull on Colby to initiate him? In the darkened room, Mel puts his voice acting to good work to rake Colby over the coals. What could go wrong? The baby’s mom almost ruins the event for Mel, but the initiation ends up a success.
